In the next few weeks, I’ll be posting reviews of the Wet n Wild Makeup collection launch. Wet n Wild is a range that doesn’t test on animals and most of their products are cruelty-free. I believe about 85% of the range is already cruelty-free and they are working towards becoming a 100% cruelty-free brand!
Wet n Wild MegaGlo Dual-Ended Contour Stick
The MegaGlo Dual-Ended Contour Stick in Light / Medium is another exciting launch that features a double-ended cream highlighter and contour product akin to the one Dior launched in their Skyline Collection.
The packaging and overall product felt surprisingly durable and the lid locked securely – something that I like to consider because I want to be sure it won’t be making a mess in my makeup bag or when I’m on the go. I have the Light / Medium shade which works really well on my skin tone.
Both colors are matte, which is something I love compared to wearing an overly shimmery highlighter. This way, I can subtly create that chiseled and lifted look without having to worry about the shimmers. The Light / Medium has a creamy white highlighter and milky-brown contour product.
The formula is dryer than I would have expected, but it blended just as well on the skin. Although pigmented when swatched, I find that you need to be generous when applying on the skin as the blending motion seems to sheer the color a lot.
I find that I prefer the highlighter a lot better than the contour shade – the highlighter just really worked on my skin tone without creating a white cast or disappearing completely and creating a really subtle lift.
The contour shade has an orangey undertone to it so when blended it doesn’t sit as of right as a contour product but is more suitable as a bronzer.
MegaGlo Makeup Stick – Highlight
The MegaGlo Makeup Stick – Highlight #800 When the Nude Strikes has a cream-to-powder formula that is very blendable on the skin. The texture is similar to other similar products you’d find in the market, and one high-end version I can think of is the Clinique Chubby Stick Highlighter.
When swatched on my hand, the color of the MegaGlo Makeup Stick – Highlight is almost identical to the Benefit High Beam concealer, one of the most popular highlighters from a few years ago. There is a generous amount of shimmers in this product so this is something I would reserve for the weekend or night out.
Once blended, the champagne pink color of the highlighter seems to disappear to leave behind just the glitters which were a little disappointing. I prefer to have a bit of that pink sheen as it creates a much more natural look on the skin.
Both the MegaGlo Dual-Ended Contour Stick and the MegaGlo Makeup Stick are valiant attempts at breaking into the saturated market of highlighting and contouring products.
These are a good option if you’re not too overly concerned about putting in more of an effort to get the look – you get what you pay for. Their on-the-go format makes it easy to travel with and keep in your on-the-go makeup bag so that’s also worth keeping in mind.
