If you’re a fan of Clinique’s best-selling High Impact mascara, do yourselves a favour and head to Sephora to pick up the CliniqueTurn It Up, Take It Off set ($27, sephora.ca) because this will likely run out very quickly!
Clinique is one of those brands that do value sets really well but they tend to fall under most people’s radar. With prices often as low as $15 to a more value-packed $50-ish sets, there’s an option for everyone.
It’s also a brand that I often associate with more mature women (my mom’s a huge fan and lifelong user of the Dramatically Different Lotion+) so I have only tried a few bits here and there with mixed results. I have found a couple of staples, including the popular CliniqueHigh Impact Mascara ($28, available here), a product that I don’t often hear in the beauty circle but is a low-maintenance staple in my routine.
When I saw a few new Clinique value sets pop up just in time for the Sephora VIB 2018 sale, I knew I wanted to get at least one from the few that were available. My choices came down to the slightly cheaper set High Impact Mascara Gift Set ($20, sephora.ca) and this lovely Turn It Up, Take It Off ($27, sephora.ca). I opted for the slightly more expensive set as the additional $7 meant that I got a full-sized PrettyEasy Liquid eyeliner which has really high ratings everywhere I’ve checked.
Priced at a reasonable $27 for 4 items, two of which are full-sized, you absolutely cannot go wrong with this if you’ve every wanted to try out some of their best-selling products. The set comes with the following items:
- High Impact mascara – full-sized ($25, available here)
- PrettyEasy Liquid eyeliner – full-sized ($26, available here)
- Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm ($39, available here)
- Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil ($35, available here)
For a few bucks more than buying the individual eyeliner or mascara, you’re getting another full-sized item and two mini-sized of their popular cleansers for free. If that’s not a good deal, I don’t know what is!
As you can guess, the mascara is already a win for me, and I’m hoping the formula and applicator of the eyeliner will be as good as my all-time favourite, the StilaWaterproof Stay All Day Eyeliner. The two extra items, part of the brand’s Take It Off range, aren’t my go-to products by any mean – I’ve shared how much I disliked the Take it Off Balm as it did nothing for me and it just felt oily all over. Personally, I much prefer the Bioderma micellar solution which removes makeup so gently and has no residue or scent at all so these minis will likely go to the charity/donation bin soon!
