While I don’t consider myself a packing expert, I’ve traveled often enough to be more efficient at packing my carry on with the essentials. On most flights, I tend to fly with a minimal to almost no makeup on – why? Mostly because I usually have red-eye flights (flights leaving in late afternoon and arriving in the early morning) to be more efficient at spending time in the destinations. By the time I board the flight, I have already exhausted my skin with wearing an entire day’s worth of makeup. It’s a balancing act, trying to look presentable and not much of a zombie post-flight – don’t you agree?
Here are the must-have’s in my carry on.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer | review
I have a crush on this concealer as I have shared in the review I posted earlier. The concealer covers everything, even the most stubborn spots and dark circles, particularly after an exhausting red-eye flight. It is slim and easy to pack and is such a lifesaver when you need it.
Victor & Rolf Flowerbomb Rollerball
Any kind of rollerball is a foolproof, leak-proof way to make sure you smell great no matter what. This is my current go-to scent of the moment, feminine and sophisticated!
Givenchy Teint Couture Compact Foundation | review
When it comes to the no makeup, just-concealer-and-powder kind of look, my go to foundation powder is the lightweight Givenchy Teint Couture Compact Foundation. Doesn’t add the powderiness that powders often do, but still gives sufficient coverage when combined with the Fit Me concealer.
Bath & Body Works Hand Sanitizer
I rarely buy the mini-sized versions of these hand sanitizers – typically I purchase the large bottles during their semi-annual sales and refill the mini’s because it’s a much better value. Enough said.
Avene Eau Thermal
I don’t care if people call me crazy but paying money to buy water in a spray can, but there’s just something magical about this thermal water. A light spritz (that you should quickly set by patting the liquid into your skin) moisturizes the skin and sets makeup too! It’s a multi-purpose spray. Plus, if you developed any minor rashes or redness, this bottle of magic will just help reduce the irritation.
Clarins Vital Light Day Illuminating Cream
Got this as a sample from Sephora a while ago and love how this skincare product subtly illuminates the skin without makeup being required. Despite this product being skincare and makeup in one, it’s not at all drying on me.
Now it’s your turn! What do you usually pack in your travel makeup bag?? As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Share with me comment section or through Twitter or Instagram!
That facial spray you mentioned reminds me of Evian’s facial spray. I’ve been loving my can and while I know there’s nothing in it but really good water….yeah, I’ll buy it again! ???? Glad to see I’m not the only one!
