I had my grad photo done in last November, and as I went about making sure I looked picture-perfect for my photo day, I knew a good foundation is in order. I researched a lot and allowed myself to splurge on a GOOD high-end foundation. I ended up picking up several including the GuerlainLingerie de Peau Foundation in 02 Beige Clair. I justified it as a necessary expense to achieve a flawless complexion for a grad photo that my parents are going to hang on the wall. Purchasing a multi-use foundation is going to be a lot cheaper than getting photo retouching done, with a price that is usually jacked up, I reasoned.

My search led me to GuerlainLingerie de Peau Foundation ($64, Sephora, The Bay, Shoppers Drug Mart). It’s a foundation that’s like Victoria Secret to your skin as the name implies – Lingerie of the skin; how could you argue with that? This foundation has a nice lovely pump that works well, and is enclosed in a gorgeous glass packaging. The bottle is heavy, and feels luxurious; justifies every pretty penny that I spent on this foundation so far.

I researched what shade I’d be matched to before buying it. I’ve read that with an NC25-30 skintone, you might have to purchase two, Beige Clair (02) and Beige Natural (03). In store, I was matched to Beige Natural (03), and I happily went home with it. Fortunately, I tested it prior to photo day, but was horrified that it oxidize when it dries. It dried out making me look very tanned, but not natural at all. I immediately got it exchanged to Beige Clair, which is a perfectly nice match to my skintone (as you can see, it’s nearly invisible on my wrist). The line has a very limited range of shades and it might require you to have to mix and match the shades to arrive at your particular coloring. Be careful not to go for something too dark because this foundation does oxidize!
This foundation has a thin consistency that it’s almost watery – I almost thought it as water-based. It blends like a dream but you have to work fast because it dries just as quickly. It sits nicely on the skin, and does not feel heavy at all! It has a light satin finish that gives your skin a natural dewy look. Despite the watery texture, it provides a good medium coverage. It makes my pores disappear, and looks so natural all day.

I can’t rave enough about the finish of the foundation because it is stunning! This is the most natural looking foundation that gives you the satiny, dewy glow without using any highlighters.
Overall, it’s an impressive foundation, but not a must-have. If you’re looking and willing to shell out the money for this foundation, I encourage you to get it because it’s certainly a nice foundation to have in your arsenal.

Pores disappear?! I’m SOLD! This foundation sounds amazing. ????
Haven’t tried much from Guerlain, but this is going on the list!
Glad it helped Stacey ???? It’s so worth it (with the discount of course!)
I’d love to see a before and after shot! This is actually the first time I’ve heard about this foundation, and while it’s expensive, it sounds pretty amazing. Unfortunately I rarely use foundation (too lazy), so I don’t think I could ever justify spending that much ????
Thanks for the suggestion Jenny! I wish I had really good skin and can skip the foundation every morning :/ more beauty sleep hours!
