I will readily admit that like many beauty bloggers out there, despite my extensive product collection, I only stick to the very basics when it comes to my daily routine. My skincare and makeup staples are capped off at 8-10 products (altogether) and that is definitely on the lower side of the count.
Recently, I’ve been shopping my stash and rediscovering some old favourites. Discover I did, digging out some rarely-used gems from my treasure trove and discovering that they simply did the trick and has changed the way I do my routine everyday.
1 | The Dior One Essentials Serum ($135, available here) has quickly joined the ranks of my holy grail skincare products. It’s not a product that many of us truly needs but I am a believer in investing in your skincare when you’re young. The gist of the product is that this serum gets into your skin, break down radicals and essentially purge them, allowing your skincare to be more effective. It’s rose-scented, and does hydrate my skin well, though for the price I was expecting to see more results. The acne scars are still there, though the pores are less noticeable. I think I’ve seen enough changes to be impressed, but I’ll wait until the next Sephora sale to repurchase.
2 | I’ve raved so much and so often about the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge but it still ended up buried somewhere at the back of my vanity. I pulled this out on a whim one morning and I haven’t reverted back to using my brushes since. Now, I’m a brush girl through and through. In the years that I’ve been wearing makeup, I’ve never strayed. This managed to do it.
3 | I got this sample of the CoverFXCC Creme ($45, sephora.ca) from a Sephora order from a long time ago and never got around to trying it. If you’ve been following my blog for some time, you know that I stay away from tinted moisturizers, BB Cremes or any light coverage products. I prefer foundations that last all day and require minimal touch ups. The CC Creme really impressed me – it provided coverage that was much more than a BB creme, and just shy of being medium/full coverage. It was exactly what I was looking for. Plus, it has the added skincare benefits that CC cremes have become well known for. And I love it!
Now it’s your turn! Have you tried any of the products mentioned here? What are some of your surprise gamechanger? As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Share with me comment section or through Twitter or Instagram!
I haven’t tried the two face products, but I do own the RT sponge. I really enjoy it. I tend to love it in waves — for several weeks that’s ALL I will use, then I’ll rediscover my brushes and forget all about the sponge for the next several weeks…and then I find it again and the process begins again. ???? Haha, anyway, thanks for the post! Enjoyed it ????
