One of the redeeming features of the Sephora VIB Rouge program has been the VIB-Rouge exclusive products. For the most part, you get early access to selection, othertimes, there are VIB-Rouge specific shades or options that are set aside (typically in very small quantities). If you have been or are feeling bad about not having said (coveted) status, don’t be: In my 3 years as a VIB Rouge, this was the only purchase where I felt the VIB Rouge status had been worth it.
Let me take a step back and share with you a little bit about this product: after the luxury British brand, Burberry, has been added to Sephora (currently only available online), they also released a small deluxe mini set, called the Burberry Beauty Box ($34 VIB Rouge exclusive, no longer available on Sephora). For that kind of price, it was not a hard choice to make, wouldn’t you agree?
The set features four small-sized products:
- 5ml / 0.17 oz Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base in #01 Nude Radiance ($54, available here)
- 2.5g / 0.08 oz Light Glow Contouring Powder Face & Eyes #07 Earthy Blush ($44, available here)
- 1g / 0.035 oz Burberry Kisses – Military Red #109 ($36, available here)
- A small kabuki brush encased in a velvet case
When the product I arrived, I was slightly surprised to see how much smaller the box is compared to how I imagined it would be! Not a big problem though because Burberry definitely did not skimp on the presentation nor how they have put this product together! The box feels high-quality, definitely something that ended up sitting on my vanity ever since I got it.
As one would expect, the quality of each product eclipse any type of expectations I had when I first tried out the brand. Firstly, I simply cannot get over how lovely the box smells when you open it. The slight smell of roses that emanate from inside the box, not too overwhelming was delightful – just beautifully light, and floral.
The Burberry Kisses – Military Red #109 ($36, available here) is a bold, statement-making red. Think Taylor Swift kind of shade. However, I found it surprising that the colour applies slightly less pigmented than what the tube would lead me to believe. I’m not a red-lip wearer so this came as a convenient surprise to me.
The Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base in #01 Nude Radiance ($54, available here) is a brightening primer that makes your skin glow even before you apply any kind of foundation or highlighters. It applies surprisingly like a moisturizer resulting in a beautiful “lit from within” glow. The best part about this product is that you can use it either under or over your foundation.
Next, we’ve got the Light Glow Contouring Powder Face & Eyes #07 Earthy Blush ($44, available here) is a delicate powder that can be used as either a bronzing or blush, depending on your skintone. On my NC25 skintone, this applies more of a blush over a bronzing powder. The light powder can be applied as an eyeshadow as well, and looks great as a blending shade on the crease.
Overall, this set has been an amazing way to sample some of Burberry’s top products without breaking the bank! I loved everything included in this box and only wished they have another one available with a more neutral colour. I also hope that they’ll bring this back again or at least make it available to more people the next time around! Although I appreciate that Sephora made this Sephora VIB Rouge-members only, I hope they could have made it at least VIB exclusives if there were inventory available!
Now it’s your turn! Would you try the Burberry Beauty Box? Have you tried anything in the brand that you’ve tried? As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Share with me comment section or through Twitter or Instagram!
