I think Sephora’s own beauty and skincare brand (Sephora Collection) is one of the least well-recognized products in the market. They often come out with unique products, and dupes for more expensive offerings so I think there are plenty to check out from the Sephora Collection.
Table could not be displayed.I’ve been pleasantly surprised by a few products that I’ve tried so it’s a brand I keep coming back to for splurges here and there. One of those unique items from the collection I’ve fallen in love with recently was the Sephora Hair Sleeping Mask.
I know what you’re thinking – hair masks? Not so revolutionary.
That’s what I thought of myself until I came across some very impressive and convincing reviews. Considering they were the cost of a latte a piece, I grabbed a few to try out and came back for a few more about a week later!
Let me tell you – I never go crazy about a product like that – I always wait until a sale happens to stock up but seriously… that’s a testament to how much I am loving this product so far!
Top Rated Sephora Hair Masks
There are currently four formula’s available, each treatment targeting a different hair concern. I’d have to say that the coconut and rose are my favourites so far. Sephora indicates this mask works well for all different hair types and colours. I’ve use this mask on my natural and coloured hair – the result have been consistent!
Coconut Mask: Nourishes and repairs hair fibers
Shea Mask: Fortifies and helps to prevent breaking and split ends
Rose: Smooths and prevents frizzing
Acai Mask: Protects color and boosts radiance
All four formula’s smell great and have delivered equally fantastic results on my hair since I started using this! The good news is that you can stock up on these and save a few bucks! I’ve been seeing in-store signs that indicate Buy 3 and Get 1 free, so be you can always stock up on these the next time you’re in store!
The Sephora Collection Hair Sleeping Mask comes with two parts – a hair cap, and the sleeping creme mask. Seems fairly straight forward.
You take a handful of the cream and apply it through dry hair and use the hair cap to cover your hair and prevent the cream from getting all over your pillow as you sleep. In the morning, you rinse your hair as usual.
What I love about the Sephora Hair Sleeping Mask
Let’s get straight to it – I love the SephoraHair Sleeping Mask – that’s why I went back and repurchased all four of them less than a week later. Let’s start by the amount of cream you get – 30ml.
That doesn’t sound like a lot but I was pleasantly surprised that I only needed about 1/3 for my thick hair! I have very, very thick hair so I was thrilled to know that my $6 actually = 3 treatments! It’s a total bang for the buck!
Even if you have longer or thicker hair, you could get away with using 1/2 of the cream at most, so you really get multiple uses out of a single pouch!
Second, the hair cap is actually quite cute and functional. It’s not one of those gimmicky accessory that they throw in just so they can sell this at a higher price. It’s a little too big for my head, but I can’t complain – it does what it’s supposed to do, and if you rinse it after each use, you can reuse it 2-3 times. If you colour your hair at home, keep the extra caps!
After I rinse my hair in the morning, my hair feels a lot softer, and sleeker. I wasn’t expecting much at all given the price point – I was hoping that at the very least my hair would smell nice and that was it. Since I started swimming every morning as part of my fitness routine, my hair has need a bit more love because of the chlorine.
After I upped the frequency (using the treatment 1-2 times a week), my hair hasn’t been as damaged as I anticipated with all that chlorine it gets exposed to. I try to use this product twice a week at most – I don’t want to overwhelm my hair with too much leftover ingredients – so far the results have been great! No heaviness, or greasiness!
I’m always very wary of trying out new hair products – I have very thick hair so sometimes new products can leave a greasy leftover even if I only have it on for 30 minutes or less. Surprisingly, the Sephora Hair Sleeping Mask exceeded my expectations so much so that I can see myself repurchasing this often – $6 for a well-done treatment is something I don’t mind investing in.
Conclusion
Overall, I think this product is one of those hidden gems from Sephora that not only costs a reasonable amount, but also delivers beyond what I expected! Check it out the next time you need a little splurge without spending a boatload of money!
