Inspired by the cool-girl LA vibe, Dior is bringing back glossy lips with the new Dior Addict Lacquer Stick. Fronted by the talented Jennifer Lawrence, this new range of hybrid pout-loving lipstick and high-shine lacquer is bringing a younger, fun-loving, and glamorous side to the original Dior Addict lipstick range.
Table could not be displayed. The new DiorAddict Lacquer Stick is Dior’s answer to the modern, “on the go” women who want a high-performing lip product that doesn’t compromise on color, comfort, and shine. To me, Dior is the crème de la crème of luxury beauty innovations complete with beautiful packaging and an evocative story behind each launch!
The DiorAddict Lacquer Stick is encased in a luxurious lacquered black square casing with neon pink highlights emblazoned with the Dior logo. The casing is a step up (if that was possible) from the regular Dior lipstick packaging, and the reflection of the pink hue as you twist and turn the tube is guaranteed to elicit pleasant gasps and “OMG” moments!
Conceived by Peter Phillips, the Dior Addict Lacquer Stick comes in 18 gorgeous brilliant colors including four must-have “it” shades and one Sephora-exclusive color (#344 Rolling):

Dior Addict Lacquer Stick – New Formula & Packaging
The formula is infused with 5 nourishing oils specifically chosen for their reflective effect (mimicking the reflection of a glass) and the shine-boosting finish. To top it off, beeswax was added to ensure decent wear time. Once I apply this lacquer, the formula sits so comfortably on the lips that are barely noticeable!
After the 3-4 hours mark, the darker colors fade to a light stain whilst the lighter shades disappear completely. Nothing too different from what you would expect with other lip products. I did notice that darker lacquers (i.e. Sauvage) tend to transfer more than the lighter shades.
Dior Addict Lacquer Stick Application & Wear
One would expect nothing less than the best kind of application with the Dior Addict Lacquer Stick. Upon contact with the lips, the Dior Addict Lacquer Stick melts from its gel-like format to a fluid-like gloss, a sensorial experience achieved through a slower, and gentler lipstick casting process specifically used for this range.
The sensation kind of feels like applying chocolate ganache on your lips! As a beauty blogger, I’ve tried many lip products, but nothing quite like this range! It may not be as obvious from the swatches, but I’d encourage you to swatch these in-stores the next time you pass by the Dior display!
These lacquers are highly pigmented which with its slanted tips helps achieve precise application. I did find the darker colors (like Sauvage) requiring a brush to prevent smudges and feathering. The 18 shades in the entire Dior Addict Lacquer Stick range are divided into four sub-categories to correspond to the trends of the season: Pastel, Neon, Classic, and Wild. A color for everyone!
The formula has a cushioning effect on the lip which tends to blur out the lines on the lips and doesn’t emphasize the dry, flakey part of the lips. In the lip swatches below, the bottom half of my lips are quite chapped but as but it’s absolutely invisible in pictures and in-person.
All in all, the Dior Addict Lacquer Stick formula really lives up to its claim and delivers the hydrating comfort of lip balm, the wear time of a lipstick, and the high shine finish of a gloss, all in one convenient lip product!
The only other lip product that comes close to this is the Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Lipsticks. With a lovely coverage, cushioned and high-shine finish that doesn’t take away from the comfort factor, these are quickly becoming the staples in my beauty bag.
At $43, the Dior Addict Lacquer Sticks are quite the investment pieces. The good news is that you’re getting that premium formula and luxury wear that delivers as it says it would!
This isn’t a range for everyone, especially those who are averse to overly-glossy finish or those who much prefer a muted, matte understated look. However, if you’re in the market for a new lip treat for yourself, give the new Dior Addict Lacquer Stick a try!
