I had the amazing opportunity to attend a wonderful event recently, the Sunkist Holistic Citrus Spa Experience, hosted by Sunkist at the Stillwater Spa at Yorkville’s Park Hyatt Hotel. In attendance were a number of Toronto-based beauty, food, fashion and lifestyle bloggers and it was a great time to catch up with a few familiar faces and meet new bloggers! We were provided transportation to and from the event so for someone who works a little far from Toronto, this was a real treat!
Sunkist has partnered with the Stillwater Spa at Park Hyatt Hotel to create several citrus inspired treatments which you can enjoy until the end of February! If you are feeling the burnout from the first couple of weeks of January, then what a treat this would be! I personally am getting incredibly swamped at work, having learned only a couple days in advance about a move that resulted in a huge increase in deliverables over the next three months while learning on the go.
If you are just feeling a little grey from the cold weather, or you’re a little overwhelmed by the deadlines and deliverables, this might be a getaway you might want to check out. However, if you do not have the time, you can also recreate these treatments at home! Stay tuned for upcoming DIY tutorials courtesy of Sunkist!
If you do fancy a little TLC, you can get at the following citrus-inspired Sunkist Holistic Citrus Spa Experience at the Stillwater Spa until February 28th!
- Navel Orange Body Scrub
- Grapefruit Massage with a hand and foot exfoliation
- Navel Orange Food Scrub
- Lemon Hand Scrub
After we arrived, we were ushered to the Stillwater Spa and enjoyed a citrus-inspired meal. The menu was developed exclusively by Executive Joan Monfaredi of Park Hyatt. It was a great way to kick off the event – as you all know, the way to my heart is through my stomach! Just check out the pictures below!
We enjoyed an assortment of citrus-inspired dishes, starting with a detox juice. Infused with mint leaves that rejuvenates and a combination of watermelon, oranges, and green grapes, this is quick drink you can mix up for yourself when you are feeling sluggish or in need of some energy without having to resort to drinking your 6th cup of coffee during the day.
We also enjoyed an Asian-inspired orange salad with oyster mushrooms and miso dressing. I would have never thought about combining citrus to kale or using miso dressing. It just didn’t seem like a combination that would work, but it did! As a seafood fan, I was thrilled that we were presented with the lime-seared scallops with grilled corn salsa afterwards! Juicy, yet firm, the scallop was cooked to perfection and it was a delicious star of the show. To cleanse the palate, we ended the meal with a lemon tart: tangy and it leaves you wanting even more!
Did you know?
- That one Navel orange provides all the vitamin C an average person needs each day?
- Studies have shown that smelling or eating an orange will improve your mood?
- Limes are the most acidic of the citrus fruits, making them a versatile natural flavour enhancer.
- Lemons are a natural source of potassium, which helps keep your heart and kidneys healthy?
