Sephora’s Black Friday sale signals the beginning of some legitimate “Take my money, Sephora” behaviour. The sale, which takes place at the end of November, is typically followed by the receipt of a Sephora gift card (ranging from $15-$25 depending on your membership tier) and many limited edition/holiday sets being put on sale.
This year, I gave myself a budget of $100, and tried to do as much of the shopping online since I left on my vacation exactly on Black Friday. Fortunately, the Sephora sale went live at midnight EST, and I was able to place my order without any issues. I overspent despite my budget, though only by a small amount ($4) so I think it was a relatively good haul.
The Black Friday product preview gave me plenty of time to decide which items to pick up from the sale. When I returned from my vacation, I only had less than 24 hours to decide what I want to purchase with the gift card. Despite my extensive wishlist, I surprised myself when I walked out of Sephora with exactly one item as intended (which is not normally the case as many of you may be able to relate to).
Interested in what I picked up from the Black Friday sale and with the Sephora Reward Card? Here you go…
Philosophy Purity Cleanser x2 ($24)
Every Black Friday, I am always eagerly awaiting for this to become available. This is my go-to staple cleanser, and for $12 (which is almost the same price as a drugstore cleanser) this is a deal worth staying up for! It’s a great cleanser and an exceptional value for the price.
First Aid Beauty FAB Star Duo x2 ($24)
As someone who travels often, I love products in tubes because they are so travel-friendly, and almost 100% leak-proof! When I saw this set on the preview, I knew I needed it because it comes with both a cleanser and a moisturizer, the perfect duo to bring when I’m on vacation!
OLE HENRIKSEN The Clean Truth™ Cleansing Duo ($12)
I hadn’t intended to buy this, but I realized that I was going to run out of my cleanser halfway through my trip. Not willing to pay for a more expensive, full-sized version abroad, I made a quick dash to Sephora in New York and grabbed one of these. Turns out it was a good decision as I ran out of cleanser a couple of days later.
Dior Diorskin Star Foundation ($25)
With my $25 VIB Rouge gift card, I repurchased my favourite foundation, despite the fact that I could have gotten something else. I just ended up loving this foundation so much and wanted to get a shade that better matches my skintone in natural daylight. The previous shade I purchase was just a smidgen too light for my skin at the moment.
Origins Active Charcoal Mask & Anastasia Contour Kit
Since my sister did not want to use her $15 off, I ended up purchasing her Christmas gift as well as the Anastasia Contour Kit since it became available online again to take advantage of the free shipping offer. I’ve heard only good things about the contour kit so I’m looking forward to it (I’m looking at you Wayne Goss!)
Now it’s your turn! What did you purchase from the Sephora Black Friday sale? What did you end up using your reward card for? As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Share with me comment section or through Twitter or Instagram!
I’ve only heard good things about it! Glad I got a good one for my sister!
Killer picks! I sampled the Diorskin Star a while back and it really is a fab foundation! xo
Thanks! Isn’t it a great one? Especially with the $25 discount, it is such much more affordable ????
I love the origins charcoal mask, it’ perfect when your skin isn’t having a good day x
