For about 5 minutes, I contemplated calling this post simply “Nude for Fall” before I realized that title could get me in trouble. So I kept the title very ~PG~ and instantly recognizable by any beauty bloggers out there.
For most, Fall signals the time to switch up your makeup palette to something deeper, and berry hues are very popular for these colder months. But I’m going to be a rebel and do exactly the opposite of that.
Nude lips is something I wear every single day. Not over the top, nude-lips-that’s-usually-paired-with-smokey-eyes kind of look, but the kind that takes you from day and night with no problem or any switch up’s. Here are a selections of some of my favourite nude lip colours in several different formula’s that you should give a try this season!
Alright, before we start, this post isn’t sponsored by MAC in any way – I didn’t even realize I featured 4 MAC colours in this post – it wasn’t intentional, I promise! Let’s go through them!
Firstly, we have my all-time favourite lip colour, the MACShy Girl, the most NC-25 skintone friendly lip shade for any kind of occasion! A job interview? A regular work day? A wedding? This is a colour you can pop on as you are running out the door in the morning and don’t have to worry about whether you’ll look tired or like you’ve just applied the wrong lip colour.
Next is my alternative nude lip shade, MAC Pure Zen which is a more pale nude lip colour that I think everyone should try. On my NC25 skintone, this is a colour that is occasionally more suitable for a night out, but when I am a little more pale in the winter months, this colour looks more friendly on me.
The MACKinda Sexy is a colour I reserve when I want to go all out nude-lip colour. It’s a colour that looks so good against my NC25 skintone, and lives up to its name as being totally sexy. I think this lipstick name is a bit underrated – I mean there’s nothing kinda sexy about it, it’s full-blown sexy. MAC’s lip formula is one of the most long-lasting and budge-proof I’ve come across, and doesn’t feel too trying for an entire night out.
Next I have the MAC Lip Pencil from an older collection called Alluring Aqua. When I first bought this colour, What Comes Naturally, I was semi-petrified that this would be too pale for my skintone. I was so pleasantly surprised when I used this colour for the first time – the formula is on point! Under a pale lipstick, it just amps up that nude factor and makes the lipstick last that much longer.
Lastly, we have a Make Up For EverPlexi-Gloss in #301P ($23, available here). It isn’t exactly the most nude lip colour in my collection, but all the same, it applies like a nude lip gloss on me. Paired with the MAC Lip Pencil, it is the just the right combination for the perfect nude, yet glossy lip colour!
The Plexi gloss is a really great formula to try out! I love MLBB shades because they’re easy to pop on and be on your way!! Hope you find a Plexi Gloss shade that you like!!
Plexi-Gloss is so pretty! I love the look of Kinda Sexy too! It really looks like it be a fresh and fun color to wear. I have so little experience wearing nude colors and the only nude lipcolor I’ve ever worn is some sort of Mauve shade from LA Colors because it was a MLBB shade for me. I really want to expand my nude lip color collection and really venture out for shades, and now I really want to try the Plexi-Gloss!
