My long-time (or even new) readers are probably aware of my on-going beauty affair with Make Up For Ever. I only have good things to say about the brand, and the popularity of the brand is so well-deserved. Make Up For Ever is probably one of the few brands that combines innovation, and technology really well – without sacrificing its artistic personality. To complement the newly released Artist Shadows (review to come), the Make Up For EverArtist Liner ($23, available here) is a new collection of highly pigmented, gliding eye pencil that will update your beauty arsenal for the fall effortlessly.
The collection features 15 shades with five different finishes (just like the Artist Shadows): matte, metallic, iridescent, diamond and satin. Just like other Make Up For Ever products, the naming convention of the colours involve a single letter and numbers. Here’s how you can decipher the naming convention of Make Up For Ever’s product: the first letter describes the finish (matte, metallic, iridescent, diamond and satin, and the number describes the colour in the colour wheel (starting with black as #1, and working your way counter-clockwise).
The pencil is creamy, long-lasting, and applies really easily on the lid with colour payoff as vibrant and as true as it looks in the pencil. The twist-up format means you won’t be wasting products by sharpening it, though it is creamy enough that it breaks quite easily. Be careful not to twist too much otherwise you’ll end up with $5 worth of products on the floor like I did when I thought my twist-up pencil was defective. You should know (and save yourself the trouble of learning this the hard way like I did) that the pencil will not twist back down. So, only twist to how much you need!
Though it isn’t exactly a novel or unique product by any means, you are probably aware that I adore Make Up For Ever’s products precisely because of the consistent quality, formulation and amazing array of colours. These pencils feature a combination of oils and waxes that give it that smudge-proof quality and polymers and pigments which you can appreciate from its longetivity of wear and intense colour payoff.
The collection will become available on sephora.ca, Sephora stores and Make Up For Ever boutiques in September 2014!

Gahh! I was so upset that I broke off a chunk of my liner! That was a huge bummer :[
Oooh, purdy! I’ve always been so happy with the quality of MUFE liners and this shade is so much fun ????
Love that this shade can be used to substitute for black/brown when they are not available!
That’s really annoying it won’t twist down.
I’ve been so impressed with all the stuff MUFE has been coming out with lately!
YES thanks for mentioning the non-twisting down. i thought it was only mine
