Weekends have a whole new meaning of awesome-ness to me – I used to be such a restless soul and often feel like weekends tend to get wasted away (no work, no mail, nothing exciting is happening!) My parents used to say, treasure the “quiet”/”down” time as one day I’ll be so busy that I’ll miss those quiet times. My parents seriously know what they’re talking about, and I need to pay more attention to them.
There’s so much that’s been going on in my life that sometimes it feels like I’m barely keeping up. Do you get those moments where you feel like things are moving at 100km/hour and you’re so far behind? I get so frustrated with myself all the time with those moments and blogging has always been such an escape…
01 // Work, work and work!
I hate to be the person who talks about work all the time, but a month into my new role, I’m literally spending my entire day in the office and often forgets to have lunch. It benefits me in two ways: quicker weight loss, and the day goes faster. There’s just so much that needs to be done, and 24 hours in the days is no longer enough. That’s not to say I’m not grateful about the promotion, I just wished I’m doing a better job at managing it. I’ve always considered myself as someone who is always on top of everything, and can always persevere over any challenge, but there have been days where I’ve literally wanted to go to the washroom and cry. I have the hardest time expressing myself, and when it comes to crying the last time I did was when I was in grade school. Some times it feels that bad.
02 // Upcoming Travel Plans
Fortunately, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel! I always thought I was the type of traveler who does best when I go on a long trip and work throughout the rest of the year. I did that in 2013-2014, and this year I decided to do something a little different: do a mini-trip every other month so that there’s always something to look forward to! I haven’t shared this with you guys but soon I’ll be soaking up the sun in the Dominican, and shortly after, visiting the beautiful Mother City that is Cape Town (South Africa). I have a countdown going.
03 // Pamper Day & Her Majesty’s Pleasure
Going back to the whole work thing, my team works hard and our team leader recognize all the hard work we’ve all put in. The other day, we were treated to a pampering day at Her Majesty’s Pleasure a lovely little space on King where we nibbled on delicious macarons courtesy of Colette Grand Café and treated ourselves to a nice manicure and hair do!
I’ve never been to Her Majesty’s Pleasure before but I can definitely tell you that I’ll be back! Not only do they have one of the prettiest spots in town for a relaxing and pampering evening, but it was one of the most Instagram-perfect spots I’ve ever seen!
04 // Sephora VIB Sale
I am sure you’re also indulging as much as I am with the current Sephora sale! I am trying to keep myself in check by setting a budget of $200 maximum spending during this sale. I’ve picked up a number of things as shown in a previous post and I’m definitely trying to not overdo it by only buying things I would use on a daily basis. I’ve made a second online order and crossing my fingers that it will be the last one in a while!
05 // Tiny Lush Haul
I seriously have not been giving some love to Lush so I finally popped by the store and picked up a few items to make my weekend even better. I have some serious addition with the “FUN” range as you can use it for literally anything – bubble bath, shampoo and body wash, all for $6.95! The Comforter bubble bar remains to be my favourite bath companion despite the many options they have available.
Now it’s your turn! What’s new in your life? As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Share with me comment section or through Twitter or Instagram!
