It still hasn’t hit me that we’re half-way through the year already and in 6 very short months, we will be celebrating a new year. It’s clichéd to say “Where has time gone!?” but I think I’m speaking for a lot of people when I say that time is going far too fast! It feels like it was February, just yesterday!
Now that we are already six months into the year, I thought it would be good to go back and review things I’ve done and new goals that I’d like to achieve over the next couple of months!
Self-Care | This wasn’t a goal I explicitly talked or wrote about back in December but I knew that I was putting my body under a lot of physical demands and I had to do better to take care of the most amazing “vehicle” that’s allowed me to see and do so much in such a short amount of time. In addition to that, I spend a lot of time (8-12 hours/day) in a very stressful environment (work) so I often feel so mentally exhausted by the time the weekend rolls around. I have been focusing a lot on self-care – whether it be pampering my tired and achy body with a hot bath every Sunday evening, taking an hour every other week to get a massage, reading Wattpad instead of just business books, and having my own self-date once a week. I feel a lot better about myself, and I feel like I can be a much better person around others when I’m happy with myself and my mind is clear! This is something I hope to continue throughout the year and make a consistent habit out of!
Being a more Active/Visible Blog Reader | This was a huge goal for me because I consider myself a passive blog reader and I think it’s still a lot of work in progress. I dedicate 30 minutes of each day to leave comments on my blog feed, but I think I can be even more proactive in doing this over social media as well! I think it’s just a great partnership to support other bloggers!
Reading 1 book every month | I think I’ve gone a decent job at keeping this up, having finished a book every month though admittedly, for some books it felt far more like a chore. I think this has to do with the fact that I’m forcing myself to only read business books which can be a bit of a dry spell. Although I’ve stuck to my goal so far, I think I need to change it up a little. Moving forward, I am allowing myself to alternate between business/self-improvement books and fictional books so it feels more motivating!
Get PADI Certified | This has been on my to-do list and I am honestly dragging my feet because of how expensive it is. At $500+tax this is easily another trip I can book to go abroad. I’ve promised my friend that I will do the open dive portion with her so I definitely need to get started!
27/25 Countries for 2016 | I’m still not sure if this was a good idea or not, but I ended up booking my 6th trip of 2016 on a whim. It’s been on my wishlist for some time, and I am hoping that this ends up being a good decision because it didn’t feel like it when I saw my credit card bill. Next up are trips to Iceland and Greece, so I’m looking for your recommendations!
What’s your thoughts on the next six months?
