Benefit is quirky, there’s no denying it. They come out with some of the best holiday and value sets around and their products are quite phenomenal. I am always looking for the next Benefit value set to add to my collection since there’s an abundance of them, and the value is excellent. You save money buying the set (instead of buying the products individually) and sometimes they even come with a gift with purchase (Shoppers Drug Mart or Murale are my favourite places to stock up on Benefit sets as they occasionally will offer a gift with purchase and carry certain exclusive sets!)
Here are two of my current favourite Benefit products that I discovered through buying those value sets.
The BenefitPOREfessional Face Primer ($37, available here) is one of Benefit’s best-sellers, and for a good reason too. The salmon-coloured face primer can be applied both under or over your makeup, so if there’s a bit of imperfection peeking out, you can go over it with the primer without ruining your makeup. There’s a bit of that silicone feel to the primer, so if you’re not used to wearing primer, this might take a while to get used to. There’s no scent to the primer, and it does help your foundation to adhere better to the skin. I’m fortunate enough to not suffer from enlarged pores or oily skin, but I still use the primer to even out the skin tone. The salmon tone helps erase any redness around the nose or cheeks which helps my foundation look more skin-like.
The BenefitIt’s Potent Brightening Eye Cream ($40, available here) is a lightly-scented eye cream encased in this adorable pot. As a perpetual junk-food eater, and late night owl, I always have dark circles to hide. This eye cream has that brightening effect and contains peptide complex known to help restore elasticity and firmness.
