When I am lucky enough to be in Paris, I always make it a mission to stop by City Pharma to do my bit of French skincare haul. Always topping the list, is Bioderma’s Micellar H20 makeup remover, a staple in many makeup artists’ arsenal and a cult favourite of beauty bloggers worldwide. While I always stock up on the H20 Micellar Water because it costs so much less than buying it at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada, I also try to explore more of the brand with each haul because I’m a huge fan of French skincare brands.
Imagine my excitement when a package filled with Bioderma goodies arrived – filled with goodies that I am dying to try! Before I get you all excited about these products, rest assured that our own Shoppers Drug Mart here in Toronto have these on shelf – so no waiting for the products to be released or pining away after a trip to Paris to get your hands on one of these.
If you are new to self-tanning, and have never, ever self-tanned before, this is the perfect introduction to self-tanning that won’t leave you with streaks, blotches or distressing orange skin before you leave on a vacation. The fine mist dries quickly on the skin and I apply at most, 2 even layers of spray. You won’t see much result immediately after application – I woke up the next day to see a very natural, subtle glow! Unfortunately, since the mist is not tinted, you can’t really see where you’ve applied the product, and as a result, one of my legs had a streak going down the entire leg. Fortunately, because the result is so natural looking and very subtle, a quick second application over that streak easily got rid of the offending colour.
No Bioderma post is complete without including the famous Bioderma Micellar H20! This magical liquid removes makeup so effectively and with minimal effort that you might start wondering what you’ve been doing before this became available! Waterproof or not, the Micellar H20 gets rid of everything so efficiently! Available in 3 sizes, a travel-friendly version, a 250mL and the large 500mL bottles, this is the one product that I purchase backups of whenever I’m in Paris.
The amazingly nourising and long-lasting lipbalm from Bioderma is a staple in my handbag at all times. The slight fruity scent smells wonderful, and this nourishes the lip just as well as other high-end lip balms, but without the cost. The lip balm is not only very moisturizing, but lasts a while on the lips too, even with food and drinks throughout the day. The tube lasts a good 2 months of daily use! I know it seems quite silly to pay such a premium for a lip balm that is just as good as a Nivea or Burt’s Bees one, but give it a try when you’re in Paris the next time!
Despite the mouthful of a name, this moisturizer is exquisite on the skin. The texture feels like an in-between a gel and cream, so lightweight that it absorbs very quickly into the skin without leaving any greasy, or sticky feeling. The pump dispenser is excellent for when one is traveling, but can be a little tricky once you reach the bottom of the bottle and want to scrape the products out. Overall, a great moisturizer for any season – it will leave your skin feeling hydrated and nourished throughout the day!
Now it’s your turn! Have you tried any Bioderma products before? Which ones are your favourites? As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Share with me comment section or through Twitter or Instagram!
