When I stopped by the Sephora at Eaton Centre during the VIB sale, I was very pleasantly surprised to see that Dior was doing a makeover event! I always love the opportunity to try out new products from high-end brands, and sometimes getting it done at department stores like The Bay or Holt Renfrew can be so intimidating! Am I the only one? I feel like the folks that get sent to do the Sephora makeovers tend to be younger, and friendlier – it’s much easier to communicate what I want, and not feel obligated to purchase anything!
I got a makeover done with one of the new Dior5-Couleurs Eyeshadow ($61, available here), Versailles, which is so aptly named with the shimmery gold as its centre-piece. I was at Versailles last year, and this palette fully embodies the beautiful palace to me!
It’s a slightly-cool toned, neutral palette with the regular brows, and beige, and a stunning gold right in the middle. I must say, I regret not talking a selfie before taking the entire makeup off! I loved how colours work well together despite how cool-toned it was. Finishing off the look, was a quick application of a berry lip shade which I would have never tried on on myself. I got no less than 3 compliments as I was browsing through Sephora.
I walked out of Eaton Centre with a much lighter wallet, but now my vanity is adorned beautifully with new products from Dior. I can’t wait to share with you some of my purchases from the VIB Rouge sale haul!
Pro Tips
While getting my makeup done, I had the opportunity to chat with the makeup artist and get a few tips/tricks to share with you! Here are the ones that I can recall!
- Use a darker shade of the DiorDiorskin Airflash Foundation ($58, available here) in a darker shade than your skintone to get that incredibly natural tanned look
- The DiorRosy Glow Healthy Glow Awakening Blush ($45, available here) is also another staple for makeup artists backstage! Use a little bit of the blush in the crease of your eye to open up the eyes!
- Frustrated that your mascara only does one of the two things you want? Use two mascaras, one to boost volume (Try: The DiorDiorshow Mascara$35, available here), and the other (at the tip of the lashes) to lengthen your curls (Try: The DiorOvercurl Mascara$35, available here)
Now it’s your turn! Have you tried any Dior makeup or skincare products before? Which ones are your favourite? As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Share with me comment section or through Twitter or Instagram!
Likewise!! I can’t wait to post my haul and see yours too!
I agree, getting makeup done at holts seems intimidating but Sephora is more fun! I’ve been using Dior nude glow foundation for over a year now but I still haven’t finished the bottle, I was so tempted to get the Dior star foundation though! Maybe next vib sale…….
Good for you Whitney!! I think it’s worthwhile waiting rather than having your foundation go bad!
I love Dior eyeshadow palettes. My besties bought me one for my birthday 2 years ago and I love love love it! I often use 2 mascaras to achieve big full and long lashes. Sometimes, I also add a last coat of waterproof on to hold the curls.

I know everyone loves the Dior Rosy Glow blush but I feel it would be too cool toned on me. I haven’t had a chance to swatch it in person yet, so I’m not sure how it’ll look.
I’m loving all the VIB haul posts and videos though… ????
Sounds like a fun makeover! I love the color of that Dior blush but I’ve been trying to figure out if it’s worth it. I have more pink blushes than I’ll ever need but I still want it!
I don’t own any Dior products but I did get my makeup “touched up” at the Miracle 10 event with some Dior makeup and I liked it. It’s a brand I feel a little intimidated by, but I should really give it a shot!
yay! glad you had fun while we were there. it was pretty fun to get our makeup done and chat with the dior ppl.
