Long lasting makeup is really important to me – I’m very low-maintenance when it comes to touching up during the day. For someone who typically spends 10+ hours at the office, head to kickboxing class afterwards, and possibly have a girl’s night out afterwards, you can imagine that I’m always saying “Here’s to hoping to my makeup staying put!”
Now, no makeup is going to last a good 16+ hours without any sort of touch up, but if I had to pick my favourites from my stash, these are definitely 12+ hours and analyst-approved!
For the face, a good base is always key. My favourite foundation of the moment is the DiorDiorskin Star Foundation ($50, available here). I’ve found that this holds up really well during a long day, and looks least like it’s smudged off my face compared to other foundations in my stash. Another reason that I adore this foundation so much is that it looks so natural to begin with, so even if it starts smudging, the change isn’t obvious.
On those bad days, I will always add the MACPro Longwear Concealer ($24, available here) to the mix. The super pigmented, and it-covers-everything, no-fuss kind of product attitude (if there was such a thing!) just makes it a convenient one to slap on my face.
To keep all the face makeup together, my go to mist is the Make Up For EverMist & Fix ($34, available here). While the infamous Urban Decay All Nighter Spray is the industry favourite, Make Up For Ever’s version is just as (or if not better!) as good as the Urban Decay one! I never noticed much difference when I use the Urban Decay version, but I can definitely see my makeup lasting longer when I use the spray from Make Up For Ever.
The rest of my makeup is very simple – an eyeshadow primer is absolutely necessary to keep the eyemakeup from smudging, and my current go-to is the Benefit CosmeticsStay Don’t Stray Primer ($30, available here) and my current palette of the choice is the Dior5 Couleur Palette in Montaigne ($62, available here).
The only eyeliner I trust that will not smudge nor run no matter how long it’s been worn for is the StilaStay All Day Waterproof Eyeliner ($26, available here). Although a little pricey, the formula is the best one I’ve come across, and the felt-tip pen applicator makes it so easy to apply and draw a proper cat-eye or wing.
My current nude lip of choice is the DiorRouge Baume in Milly ($37, available here), a moisturizing lip balm and lipstick in one that doesn’t feel like it’s there.
Now it’s your turn! Have you tried any of these products? Which products are your go to for long days? As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Share with me comment section or through Twitter or Instagram!
Hmm good question. I think my fave long wear foundation right now is Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation+Concealer. The coverage is awesome and stays put.
Adding a long-wearing primer really helps add wear time to my foundation!
