Makeup setting spray rarely makes it to the everyday beauty bag. If it’s a step that I don’t need, I skip it – I like my extra 10 minutes of sleep, thank you very much! After getting my hands on this during the release of the summer collection, I was intrigued.
It seemed to defy everything you would associate with a regular setting spray. The ClarinsFix Make Up ($43, available here) is encased in a heavy glass bottle that doesn’t make it practical for travelling or carrying on the go. The bottle is reminiscent of a perfume bottle spray – what it lacks in practicality, it makes up in style. The bottle is fairly small which means that generous spraying all over the face is not highly recommended. It seems when something seems to go and defy all things you’re normally accustomed to with that type of product, you know you need to give this a try!
I’m lucky that I don’t really need to apply setting sprays on a daily basis. I spend most of my time in the office and I wear mostly only long-wearing foundation. I reach for this on days when I have a blogging event or a dinner date with friends after work and I don’t want to or have the time to touch up during the day.
What I like about Clarins in general is its strong botanical roots, and how it heavily infuses natural ingredients like flower extracts into its products. What makes Clarins’ offering different than Urban Decay, MAC or other high-end products is that it doesn’t just leave your skin feeling dampened but refreshed as well, similar to how your skin feels after applying the MAC Fix+!
There is a bit of tackiness to this product so I wouldn’t recommend over-spraying. It is gently hydrating and doesn’t cake up my makeup throughout the day.
Overall, it’s a much more expensive setting spray but one worth the splurge if you’re in the market for one.
Yep, they got that right! It’s very reminiscent of a perfume bottle!
Wow, definitely not packaged for travelling haha! It looks super fancy though, very nice!
Thank you ???? I’m very surprised that they decided to go with this packaging considering how everyone else in the industry does it!
I fall in love right away with the cute pink packaging!
