I love a good cleanse. There’s something so relaxing, therapeutic, and rejuvenating about taking off all that makeup off at the end of the day and feeling the clean skin underneath shine through. A couple of years ago, Bioderma became the “it” product of fancy skincare routines. It changed the way you do your cleansing. And even though it’s a product that’s been used by the pro’s for years, it’s only gotten to people’s radar so very recently. It saw many imitations and copy-cats – some equally good, others not so much.
You weren’t part of the “cool beauty bloggers” crew if you hadn’t at least made an attempt to track one of the infamous Bioderma Sensibio H20. Of course, I wanted to be cool, like one of the cool beauty bloggers (Insert Mean Girls “I’m a cool mom!” voice here). Not keen on paying $32 at Shoppers Drug Mart for this liquid gold, I made sure I picked up as many as I can when I went to Paris a couple of years ago.
Don’t worry, I didn’t clear out the shelves. I’m sure the ladies that worked there were wondering why all these women from around world, kept clearing off the shelves of Bioderma Sensibio H20. How touristy, right? So of course I got one, and I was immediately hooked. These days, the Bioderma Sensibio H20 is much easier to come by, and less expensive to get your hands on. Additionally, there are a number of options that have become available to suit various skintones.
+ Bioderma Sensibio H20 Make Up Removing Micelle Solution (Pink Cap with Clear Liquid) $18.95
So this is the product that started it all, and remains to be the best and most popular product within the entire Bioderma range. What’s really great about this solution is that it removes makeup, even waterproof makeup, without much tugging, or effort. It works for the pro’s and runway models who have to go through multiple makeup changes backstage, and cannot afford to put anything harsh on their skin, this is as natural as it gets.
+ Bioderma Hydrabio H20 Micelle Solution for Sensitive Dehydrated Skin (Blue cap with Clear liquid) $18.95
This ultra-mild version is more suited for those with sensitive skin, and are likely to have dehydrated skin. I find this equally effective at removing makeup, though I didn’t feel too much difference upon application. I mean, it felt just like water! I suppose after application, it felt like a bit of moisture stayed on the skin, leaving it feeling a little more hydrated than the pink version. It soothes and moisturizes which I thought was kind of versatile and absolutely fantastic for those who hates the fuss of using 3-4 products every night.
+ Bioderma Sensibio 3-in-1 One Step Cleansing Milk (Pink cap with white liquid) – $18.95
Cleansing milk always feels so luxurious, hence when I saw this I squealed with delight! This luxurious milk cleanser reminds me of one that CHANEL or Dior would have made, and my mom would have used when I was young. NOSTALGIA! It is equally effective are removing makeup, and the application is identical to what you would do with the regular micellar-water version. I found that massaging the cleanser directly onto the skin worked much better than on the cotton pad, and wasted less products. The 3-in-1 refers to the fact that it combines cleanser, toner and eye makeup remover in one. The cleanser is so gentle that you don’t even need to rinse the skin – just dry the face with a clean cotton towel!
Now it’s your turn! Have you tried any of these Bioderma cleansers? As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Share with me comment section or through Twitter or Instagram!
