For the Fall, Clarins is focusing volume, volume, and volume. The press release blurb got me thinking of Meghan Trainor’s “All About that Bass”, which in turn, inspired the title of this post. Not sure if that was too relevant but if you are someone who’s been searching for and trying to find a dual-purpose makeup combination, this could be one to check out.
The collection features two products, an eyeshadow quad and a mascara. My first introduction to Clarins’ eye makeup formula came from this past summer’s collection. There’s something that keeps me coming back to the Clarins formula – it’s the subtlety and classic colours which make them perfect for everyday wear for school, the office, and even formal functions.
The 4 Colour Eyeshadow Palette ($43, The Bay) comes in three shade combinations, and the one that I have, #02 Rosewood has the prettiest colour combination that I reach for regularly. The quad comes in a mirror-case that attracts fingerprints like no other, but that’s personal preference. I like that you have a full-mirror inside, and 4 strips of colours.
The formula can be worn both wet and dry, depending on whether you prefer a natural or more smokey/intense look. The pigmentation of the highlighter is quite light when swatched dry, but what it lacks in pigmentations, it makes up in the texture, and a lovely mother-of-pearl-like finish when applied on the lids or the inner corner of your eyes. My favourite colours are the 2nd (brown) and 4th shade (purple-grey) which look amazing worn on its own or as crease colour. I’ve been really loving this one-colour eyeshadow technique, and these colours look best on their own.
The Supra Volume Mascara ($27, The Bay) features a fomula that combines Clarins’ new volume-booster complex, and ingredients that thickens the lashes. The formula is enriched with panthenol and cassie flower wax to care and nourish the lashes. The exclusive Clarins’ volume-booster complex instantly increases the volume – thicker, and blacker lashes. With repeated application, the formula increases the thickness of the lashes naturally. There are two colours in the collection – black which is a permanent shade, and brown which is the limited edition shade.
What do you think of this autumn’s new collection from Clarins?
Yes, I agree! The plummy warm shades is so so perfect for the season!
Such pretty colors! I’ve never been drawn to Clarins in the past because I always thought of it as an “older” brand…though I guess I’m getting closer in age to their target demographic now ????
Same here! They’ve been coming out with more and more products aimed towards the millenial age group so I’m all for it!
I love that you can use it wet or dry for different looks, that’s awesome!
That looks like a lovely palette! I love the plumb-y shimmer shade. Looks like it’s perfect for fall and winter smoky looks.
