VichyNutriHands Hand Cream is officially my favourite hand cream ever! I have a really bad habit when it comes to hand creams – I never use them! Every time I wash my hands, I always forget to reapply the hand cream and I just find them to become very wasteful considering how many times you will end up washing your hands throughout the day. Moreover, some of the hand creams I’ve come across are on the oilier side, and leaves an oily film that gets all over my laptop and smartphone when as I go about my day.

I was randomly browsing through Shoppers Drug Mart when I spotted the Vichy and La Roche Posay hand cream duos on sale. They come in a twin pack for $10. They have the same quantity (50mL), but the only difference was that Vichy had an additional 15% off! I purchased this with some cynicism because I haven’t found a hand cream that I truly liked. I had a really dry/flaky patch of skin at the back of my hand that I am embarrassed of and it always flares up during the winter months. I’ve tried using Vaseline and MAC‘s Honey Skin Salve, thinking that the extra moisture would help heal and moisturize my hands, but they didn’t help at all!

When I first started using this hand cream, I immediately fell in love with the scent – it’s a sweet, flowery scent that’s not as strong as the one from Bath and Body Works hand creams. I was pleasantly surprised to note that the lotion absorbs quickly into the skin. The time it took me to walk out of my apartment door to the main entrance (5m max), the lotion has already fully absorbed into the skin such that I can wear my leather gloves without swiping off the lotion when I put the gloves on. The consistency is just right – not too thick or pasty but not too liquidy like most body lotions.
After a week’s use, my patchy/dry skin was completely gone. My sisters even noted how much softer my hands felt. After that week, I stopped using it for a couple of days and the same patch of dry skin reappeared again. I took this as a sign of how well the Vichy hand cream works and immediately thought about repurchasing it from Shoppers.
When I went back, only the La Roche Posay Lipikar hand cream duo was available. I purchased that as well, and hopefully it’ll work just as well as this one. If it does, I’ll be sure to write up a review so that you’ll know what to look for ????
