I was at Holt Renfrew when I came across the Michael KorsFulton Saffiano Crossbody bag (It was meant to be!) I was in the market for a new crossbody bag since I have been using strictly my Longchamp Le Pliage Tote for the last two years and it was giving me some back issues due to putting too many things inside the bag. Plus, that bag is starting to get really dirty from being toted around for work everyday. I needed something more functional for running errands and for a night out since the Longchamp gets too bulky.
To be frank, the first thing that caught me was the colour – it was not too bright of a red that it would clash with everything I wear, but a more muted, and understated red, perfect to wear all year round, and especially during the holidays. Most of my wardrobe is neutral in terms of colours, so this will go with at least 75% of my closet! I love the structured look of the bag makes it look incredibly luxe, and chic. I also adore the saffiano leather which makes it super low-maintenance and easy to clean. The strap is 18″ long, and adjustable. I haven’t had to play around with the strap too much – it is good for my height (5’5). The hardware is silver, which I sort of wished was actually gold because I think it would stand out more, but I suppose the gold and red can clash. I’m not a designer by any means, so I trust Mr. Kors more than myself on the colour choices.
Michael Kors Fulton Saffiano Crossbody Bag | What I Like About It
In terms of storage, there is a zip pocket and a spacious slip pockets on the inside, perfect for storing a lipstick/balm, powder and a small mirror. There is also an exterior open pocket on the back with a snap closure, perfect for storing small/thin items you need easy access to such as your transit pass, and phone. Your phone and wallet will fit easily inside too!
Overall, for spending close to $200 on this bag, I am quite happy with the purchase. From the colour, design, and overall functionality, I don’t think I can beat that value! When you consider the cost per wear, I am sure it will be in pennies for this bag!
