Browsing the “Under $25” section on the Sephora website can sometimes yield surprising, and pleasant “Get in my cart” worthy reactions (including those that make the neighbours stare). Since many of these products tend to be under $25, I feel justified adding a couple in my basket, and one of them is the Sephora exclusive Laura MercierHi-Lite Duo ($18, available here). This limited edition set features 2 of Laura Mercier’s summer essentials for the face and lips, valued at approximately $29.02 based on my own estimates ($26 by Sephora’s estimate):
- 0.10 oz Mini Lip Glace in Bare Baby in Nude ($19.33 value)
- 0.06 oz Deluxe Matte Radiance Baked Bronze in Highlight ($9.70 value)
I have not tried the Laura MercierLip Glace ($29, available here) but I have only heard good things about it. The mini included in this set is worth $19, which is quite generous given that the full-size costs $29. I’m happy that they’ve included a universal shade that works on many differen’t skintones. The glace/gloss doesn’t feel heavy nor sticky on the lips – they remind me a lot of the Maybelline Colour Elixirs!
The Laura MercierMatte Radiance Baked Powder Compact ($42, available here) was a pleasant surprise right from the first sweep. A light sweep of this product appeared to simply disappear on my NC25 skintone which is disappointing given the quality that Laura Mercier product supposedly have. However, tilting my head slightly informed me that the highlighted hadn’t disappeared, but blended so naturally that the effect was almost impossible to distinguish from my natural glow. When I do want a little more contrast between the contour and the highlight, I pack a little more of this to “pop” the upper cheekbone area, making the hollows of the cheek more prominent.
This shade isn’t overly shimmery or glittery – it has just the right amount of colour. It leans more yellow rather than pink, so this many not work on every skintone.
I was also pleasantly surprised at how much I like using the highlighter as an inner corner/under the brow-bone highlight! Lots of colour with intense pigmentation, no matter which way you decide to use it!
Despite not being familiar with the 2 products initially, this value set proves once again the benefit of trying out multiple products in one go. I’m really thrilled with both products, and impressed by the quality and versatility of both products. It is currently out of stock online, so if you see this re-stocked or in-store, don’t hesitate to grab it!
Have you tried the Laura Mercier Hi-Lite Duo or any one of the 2 products included? As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Share with me comment section or through Twitter or Instagram!
Oops! Sorry about that – hopefully you spot these in-store, so you can actually get your hands on them (hating on how things sell out so quickly online!)
Ooh, pretty! These look like great everyday shades- very wearable. Glad you’re happy with them ????
For $18, definitely had nothing to complain about ???? Laura Mercier makes some quality stuff!
Thanks to you, now I have a mini lemming for this.
I just love how adorable the set looks!
The powder sounds especially good and maybe it will work for all over use as well since I love base makeup with yellow undertones. ????
