A random stroll through Shoppers Drug Mart resulted in a quickie purchase of two cream blushes from the Ready for Boarding collection by Essence. This post is so long overdue, but I thought I’d share it still anyhow.
Aptly named ‘Sending You Kisses’ and ‘Beauty on Tour’, these cream products are so emolient that they feel greasy upon the first swatch/application. It feels like there’s a lot of slip to it which is great to apply on the cheeks, but maybe not so much on the lips.
The pigmentation and pop of colour are definitely there – I can’t even begin to describe to you how spot on these colours are. They look so universally flattering, that those with lighter or darker skintones can rock them by focusing on the intensity of application. They don’t feel sticky and surprisingly pleasant to apply with either fingers or brushes.
There’s a slight watermelon-like scent to them – it reminds me a lot of the Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Balm if you’ve tried them before. Nothing offensive, but something that you might want to be aware of just in case you’re averse to scented products.
The two cream products makes the same claim as being a 2-in-1 product, a blush and a lipstick/gloss. Although I’m a fan of multi-purpose products, this one is quite average. It’s nothing to go wow over, but it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in the market for one and did not want to splurge too much. The packaging is very much Clinique-esque with its transparent plastic casing. The products aren’t sealed either, so you’ll want to make sure that the products haven’t been swatched or tested before purchasing.
